Our community

We aim to demonstrate our genuine care for our people, our community and our partners.

We are committed to our community, supporting trainee chefs, our hospitality industry and future generations of fishers and farmers through sustainable aquaculture practice.

Sustainability

As a 5th generation Northern Territory family, we put our passion into practice to protect our unique environment for generations to come.

We were one of the first Barramundi farms to be certified under the Australian Sustainable Barramundi Farming program in 2014. Our sustainability certification went global with Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification in 2017. The BAP program is a holistic approach to sustainable aquaculture including environmental responsibility, social responsibility, food safety, animal welfare and traceability. More information on our sustainability certification can be found here.

Our fish feed is also sustainable. It is made in Australia by Ridley and backed by Global Gap and FeedSafe accreditation.

Sponsorship

The mental health of farmers and fishers is of great concern with many of our primary producers being devastated by recent natural disasters, fuel increases and the high cost of living pressure we're all experiencing. We were proud to team up with Plate for a Mate to raise money for The Black Dog Institute's regional and rural mental health programs to support people who live and work far from mental health facilities.

We are passionate about food, and are proud to support our next top chefs with their training. We continue to support the Institute of Culinary Excellence in Brisbane and the Australian Institute of Technical Chefs, including sponsoring their new scholarship program.  We are also proud to support the great work of Careflight NT and NSW in remote Australia through their gala balls.

Every year we welcome Palmerston Game Fishing Club’s Junior Angler Clinic, supporting the next generation of fishers to learn about boat safety, fishing techniques and croc safety. We also support the Amateur Fishing Association NT’s Gone Fishing Day photo competition, with winning children participating in a fishing clinic at our farm.

Being a good neighbour is important to us. As a member of Friends of Fogg Dam we share the passion of caring for the unique wetland on our doorstep. When our local school reached out for assistance with weatherproofing their storage shed we were happy to lend a hand.

Indigenous Engagement

We aim to become an employer of choice for Aboriginal people, engaging and retaining Aboriginal employees by offering a culturally sensitive, supportive working environment, guided by our Indigenous Engagement Strategy. Our work to create employment and training opportunities for Aboriginal people was recognised with the 2018 Woolworths Sustainability Supplier of the Year Award.
