Fish and Chips: an Aussie lock down favourite

It seems we spent a lot of our lock down time talking about food, making food and...eating food...(hello corona-carbs?).

Unsurprisingly, there was an explosion in online shopping, home delivered hampers and takeaway food from our favourite restaurants which we willingly supported in anticipation of that far, far distant day when we could visit them in person.

Deliveroo crunched their data and discovered that the humble fish and chips was Australia's favourite lock down take away food, with a 597% increase in orders of the dish in their May 2020 update. The drastic increase in fish and chips orders displaced burgers, which was the most popular menu item for 2019.

Fish and chips? A great combination of health and comfort food. Fish is a relatively low fat protein, and Humpty Doo Barramundi contains healthy nutrients such as selenium, phosphorous and omega-3s for a healthy immune system.

Whether you buy your own fresh fish to cook up, or order it from your favourite restaurant, make sure you get a couple of serves of Aussie Barra into your week.
